I do love how brands seem to sneak up on you these days and then punch you in the face. It’s a strange expression not meant to cause any offense but I think it’s apt at describing the word of mouth, life style brands that have taken over the popular retail culture scene.
It’s fair to say I live in Jack Wills/Hunter country being a south coast boy and these brands epitomes branded life styles. They sell sun, sea, sand, sex and the luxury of a care free life which is a pretty highly sort after commodity. Whether you love or hate these brands you can’t disagree with their success and it is all down to great banding. They all have a strong message which they sell through every avenue possible even down to the people who work in the shops. It’s not a new concept but my goodness it’s been effective for them. Luckily there are so many brands out there we are still to work with and I am so excited to see our designers creating some more wonderful brands such as the great social dinning community SMITH.
